She Walks the Air XI is the eleventh iteration of an intermedia practice on the intersectionalities of traveling femme bodies, lasting transgenerational impact of colonization, and somatically embedded memories of war. This iteration will take place in Tompkins Square Park as a site-specific performance on the first weekend of November. Through the pairing of ensemble devised movement with intimate audio recordings, She Walks the Air XI offers the ensemble’s stories of alienation and displacement in the shared and differing Asian/American identity – creating space for connection, and a moment to acknowledge the inadvertent complicity in the colonization of Turtle Island.
